Middletown High School

The ESL E-mail Mentoring project pairs ESL students at Middletown High School with future teachers at Roger Williams University. The project's goals are to assist the ESL students with writing and learning English and to give future teachers a chance to enjoy a multicultural field experience using technology. For more information, please contact Madge Thombs or Luis Oliveira.
This semester, students from Mexico, Peru, Bulgaria, Japan, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Qatar, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, and the Phillipines participated. On the final day of the project, the students had the opportunity to meet in person, take photographs and write down some final comments on the project. ESL students and their mentors received a copy of the final essays from the semester in a booklet called Cultural Connections. This is the first semester that the students have created their own publication.
