Before coming to RWU, I spent several years completing my graduate work at the University of California at Santa Cruz, where I worked in the labs of Dr. Dan Costa and Dr. Burney Le Boeuf. The field component of the research was carried out at Aņo Nuevo State Reserve, while the lab portion took place at Long Marine Laboratory in Santa Cruz. To learn more about elephant seals and  the elephant seal rookery at Año Nuevo, visit the Año Nuevo website. For more information about careers in marine mammal science, visit the Society for Marine Mammalogy website.

In a previous life before becoming a marine biologist, I used to be a basketball player, and played for the University of Richmond, and the Brisbane Bullets of the Australian National Basketball League, If you're planning a trip to Australia, you can't beat the Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse for fine food and accommodation in the Mudgee wine country (and I'm not just saying that because my family owns the place......mention my name for a free coffee refill!).
